James A. Wolfe - Business Advisor

As CEO and President of Balance Bar, Wolfe led the revitalization of the company, taking it from $1M to $100M in four years, to a buyout by Kraft Foods in 2000 for $268M. Wolfe directed this phenomenal transformation by introducing new products, expanding distribution and marketing methods, signing a number of nationwide food brokers and distributors, making bold advertising decisions, and taking the company public in 1998.

Wolfe has many years in the food and beverage industry. He served as Director of Market Development for Coca-Cola USA, as Vice President and General Manager of Welch Foods, and as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for 7-Up Foods. Previously he consulted to Welch’s, Motts, Gatorade, Celestial Seasonings, and Snapple.

Wolfe graduated from the University of Buffalo with a B.S. in business administration and did graduate studies at New York University.
